The purpose was to assess the impact of Ghana Integrated Management
Information Systems on Transparency and Accountability at Wiawso College of Education. The study
adopted the positivist philosophy. The quantitative data were gathered from 70
administrative staff of the Wiawso College of Education. using survey
questionnaires. The study employed the complete enumeration method (Census) in
selecting the respondents. The descriptive survey design was used. The partial
least squares structural equation modelling technique was used to analyse the
main objectives of this study using SMART PLS version 3.3. The major findings
of the study were: governance system, commitment of senior
management, employee commitment, ICT infrastructure, organisation culture,
back-up power plant and funding are the major factors that can influence the
successful implementation of GIFMIS; GIFMIS significantly influence accountability; and GIFMIS significantly influence
transparency. It is recommended that, Public firms should be encourage to implement GIFMIS
since it ensures effective accountability and transparency.
